Quickbook pro 2010 for mac
I for that's the one mac I immediately noticed the first 2010 I pro it. Now, when using an accounting software, a good deal of time is spent quickbook entering for. When entering transactions, the drop mac feature for name entry does not automatically drop.
You have 2010 click the arrows with quickbook mouse first. That would pro you down, from keyboard to the mouse to the keyboard for every entry you type. The Windows version is more automatic.
It may also require a magnifying glass since the dates are also so tiny and in a black background. The columns in the reports are supposed to be resized by dragging column title left or right. It does not work. I could not resize it, and the arrows don't work. These may seem to be minor, but for a report to be printed correctly, the columns should be flexible.
The toolbar icons are not business-like. The candy color design is more appropriate for children's games, with the contrived 3-D effect which does not exactly say professional. One big thing that is missing is the manual payroll module.
It has been with the Windows version for several years, although they have hidden it and you will only find it after searching discussions online. Intuit has been pushing subscription payroll, but if you only have 2 employees, and paid monthly, manual payroll is the way to go.
A small business cannot afford to subscribe to payroll when it can be done with a basic knowledge of high school accounting. But there is a work-around: add your own payroll expenses and liabilities in the list of accounts.

Why is Intuit making my life for hard! The Windows version is cheaper and yet the manual payroll module is there even in the old versions, like or earlier if I am not mistaken. Features that are necessary are missing but features like "easy set-up" are being advertised as new feature. How many times 2010 set-up a company? The day-to-day interaction is on data entry, and if that is pro, I would be cursing the program every time I get in front of the computer.
So I would rate Quickbooks Mac mediocre. Quickbook will still give it 3 star, which mac average as in mediocre since it runs faster. Update: The most recent update R3 has fixed the report column resizing. The manufacturer commented on the review below. I purchased this version because I upgraded to Snow Leopard and found out that QB data will become corrupted.
The first time it billed a client 9 billion it was funny. The problem progressed to more clients and accounts. It took surfing different sites to find out the source of the problem. Sure didn't hear it from Intuit. I use QB every day, I had no choice but to upgrade. This new version crashes enough that Intuit has created a new crash catcher screen as the program shuts down.
I am not a newbie, this will be my fourth upgrade in QB. He wanted to charge for a data repair on a less than 30 day product. I was told "it takes 3 rebuilds before it will work, call back if that doesn't work.
I noted that on their repair report, I'm guessing no one reads them. Had to reconstruct missing customer payments from my printed records. Not fun. If Quickbooks delivered to Mac users as promised it would be fine. It never does. I have purchased Moneyworks Express for a new company I'm starting. It's worth a shot to potentially avoid the ongoing frustration with Quickbooks. Moneyworks doesn't appear to have all the bells and whistles, but once you learn their New Zealand accounting terms, it seems to work fine and works with filemaker pro, btw.

STOP it already! Oh, btw, with each new ror it breaks compatibility mac a For. It's a game quickbook continually updating each side and quickbook figuring out which version you used for because none of pro other mmac talk to each other. It's a po program with horrible functionality. Stay away from this program until Intuit 2010 out maf in the heck they are doing on a Mac. I was hoping would resolve the problem. I'm also frustrated that Intuit seems to think Mac users are not as important as PC users, thus leaving out features on the Mac version that are present in the PC version.
My husband had to switch to PC just because of this years ago. If I can ever get my files to work on the Mac version I'll be happy to change this rating.
