Learn how to keep your software up-to-date so quickkbooks always have the quickbooke features and fixes. You can update QuickBooks Desktop automatically or manually. If you turn on Automatic Updates, QuickBooks automatically downloads and installs the latest updates when they're released. Or if you decide to do updates yourself, check for updates at least once a month. This is separate from upgrading your company file after switching to a newer version or edition of QuickBooks Desktop.

Before you install the upgrade, make sure you have a good backup of your company file.
